Welcome Our team offer individual care and attention in a supportive and friendly environment where your child can play and enjoy the early years of their learning.
Our last Ofsted inspection took place in June 2018 and we were delighted to be awarded a 'Good' status. The report said 'Children are happy and well behaved, with good self-esteem'. 'They quickly develop very good relationships with staff and each other, helping them to feel emotionally secure'.
Main Building The main Pre-School building was built over 40 years ago as a result of the generosity and hard work of local people and has been part of the community ever since. The building consists of a large open plan room with purposeful spaces including:-
Cosy reading area Cloakroom/Reception Bug Rug for story time Messy play space - for arts and crafts Snack Table Washing-up area Multiple tuff trays Children's W.C (complete with miniature toilets) Smart Screen Jungle themed quiet room
We have an extensive range of toys including role play, fancy dress, puzzles, building blocks, small world and an accessible art area.
In addition there is a kitchen and W.C available to staff only. Outdoor play We actively encourage outdoor play and are lucky to have two outdoor areas for our children - one of these is a soft tarmac area with a wooden playhouse and secondly a grassed area with wooden play equipment, a sandpit, bird-feeding area and areas to grow plants. Recently, we have installed planters on the tarmac area to help children understand the life cycle of plants and how to care for them.
Forest School We are lucky to have weekly access to the large forest school located in the beautiful grounds of Upottery Primary School. Please see Forest school tab for full details.
